Parental Testimonial for Newham Warriors

My son is 8 years old and has been playing football for Newham Warriors for 2 years. In the past year his team has entered a league and they train on Saturdays with matches on Sundays.

Newham Warriors has had a very positive impact on Marley. He has made new friends and become more confident with new people, especially his peers. Also with it being of a mixed age group and Marley being one of the youngest it has helped him feel more confident mixing with older children. This has benefitted him socially. He is supported well by the coaches who dedicate their time to Newham Warriors. He enjoys his football and feels that training and playing matches have improved his confidence in this area. He has become very dedicated to making sure he is always at training and available for matches. He enjoys being part of a team and entering the league this year has been a constant source of excitement for him. He has also become fitter and wants to listen and improve. He is very focused on what the coaches are teaching him and he is very grateful to them for the time they spend with him. Newham Warriors gives Marley focus, exercise, new friendship opportunities and a sense of belonging within a team which is hugely beneficial for him.

‘I have learnt to shoot better and that is very important in a match. It is very enjoyable because the coaches are very nice. I think it has had a big impact on me by making me a lot better. The children who go to Newham warriors are very nice.

Nearly all the things that I have learnt about football have come from Newham warriors. It is fun and I have made a lot of new friends.’
