Dads and Lads (D&L) has policies on equal opportunities, which are to be followed by all the teams Associated with D&L. These are designed to enable us to provide an equal service regardless of factors such as race, gender, disability, religion or sexual orientation.

D&L is committed to eliminate discrimination whether by reason of gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or ability and to encourage equal opportunities,

  • Members: The aim of all the members within the organisation is to treat the children/young adults & their parents/carer/guardian fairly regardless of ethnicity, gender, age , sexuality, physicality (abled or Disabled) & religion. We also expect persons who are supporters & none members, associated with D&L & their teams to do the same.
  • Dads and Lads (D&L) Organisation: Our organisation will not tolerate offensive & or discriminatory remarks or behaviour (incudes any form of social media). Where & if this occurs, members/staff may/will face disciplinary action. Associated Supporters & none members will/may be asked to leave the premises or the location the event is being held.
  • Newham Warriors Teams: Any of the associated teams must adhere to the with D&L standards set. We will not tolerate any type of harassment sexual or racial based & any other form of discriminatory behaviour, whether it be physical, verbal.

 

Dads and Lads (D&L) & their Associated Teams will work to ensure that any such behaviour is dealt & met with the appropriate action in whatever context it occurs.

All staff are expected to abide by the requirements of the following

  • Race Relations Act 1976
  • Sex Discrimination Act 1975
  • Disability Discrimination Act 1995

Specifically discrimination is prohibited by:

  • Not to treat any individual on grounds of Gender, Colour, Marital Status, Race, Nationality, Ethnic or National Origin, Religion, Sexual Orientation or Disability less favourably than others.
  • Expecting an individual solely on the grounds stated above to comply with requirement(s) for any reason whatsoever related to their membership, which is different from the requirements for others.
  • Imposing requirements on an individual(s) which are in effect more onerous on that individual(s) they are on others. (Example: This would include applying a rule which makes it more difficult for members of a particular ethnic race, sex & or religion to comply with others not of that ethnic race, sex & or religion.
  • Victimisation of an individual(s) or harassment of an individual(s) by virtue of discrimination.

  • Any other Act or omission of an Act, which disadvantages a member against another member, or others persons purely on the grounds above grounds. Thus in the entire D&L associated teams recruitment, selection, promotion and training processes, as well as the disciplinary matters. It is essential that merit, experience, skills, talent & temperament be considered as objectively as possible.
